Warring in the Spirit: For What?

The church:

• Restoration of God’s work in general, as He reveals in His Word, and also as He has revealed concerning this work in particular.

• Fulfillment of purposes revealed to earlier generations, which we know have never been fully accomplished.

{Habakkuk 2:2–3} And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

• For positive connections and communication with those who are seeking a deeper relationship with Christ.

• For a curiosity about Faith Assembly, and openness to receive an honest explanation of what we believe, stand for, and practice, without feeling any pressure to join us.

• That God will pour out His Spirit on those who seek Him with all their hearts, simply in answer to seeking Him, not because they are seeking an experience; and not only among young people, or people on the fringes.

• That strongholds of intellectualism, tradition, and vested interest, be overcome; that truth, righteousness, and peace prevail.

• For direction concerning specific steps we should take in building God’s house.

• For wisdom and direction in how we use the resources which He entrusts into our stewardship.

The individual:

• For hearts (including our own) to hunger for a deeper reality of God in their lives.

• For dissatisfaction with any answers not in line with the Word.

• For opportunities to share the gospel, and wisdom in sharing it.

• For boldness in sharing, like the church in Acts 4.

• To accept our background, thank God for it, and He can remove any “stigma” that is not to His glory by direct intervention!

• To be bold and unashamed about our background, who we are, what we believe, what we stand for and practice.

• To correct anything from our side that would hinder God’s work.

• For God to prosper the work of our hands.

• For divine protection, healing, divine health, all the promises
