This is not really a full-fledged update, but there are some changes to the PalTalk schedule below.

Faith Assembly Sermons Pages Up to Date

I have completed the updating of Faith Assembly Sermons, through the present date. Follow the link above to access the listings. All messages since November 2003 are available in digital format.

Hobart Freeman Messages Digitizing Project Completed!

As of the end of January, all of the recorded messages of Brother Hobart E. Freeman were in digital format, ready for delivery in digital format. As of a couple weeks ago, all messages are on the shelf as audio CDs, ready for immediate delivery.
You can order a single message on audio CD (two audio CDs for messages over 80 minutes), a multi-track MP3 CD containing as many as 25 messages, or a multi-track MP3 DVD containing 100 or more messages. CD and DVD capacities depend on length of included messages. Click on the Digitized Recordings link above for pricing information.

Limitation of Use of Digital Media
While our materials are not protected by copyright, we assume honesty and fairness on the part of those who purchase them. The purchase of any recording does not constitute a right to copy. We assume copying is only to share the messages as a ministry to those who are seeking the Lord. It is a common ethical principle that you are not authorized to make copies as a means merely to save the cost of purchasing the messages for yourself or for anyone else.

Some have asked how much it costs for the entire set on 5 CDs. It is not possible to put the entire set on 5 CDs, either as Audio CD, MP3 CDs, or even MP3 DVD. We have not yet determined for sure, but it appears we may be able to get everything on about 10 MP3 DVDs. However, stating such a possibility does not constitute a commitment that we will ship in that format.

I am continuing to work on preparation of a book compiled from Brother Freeman's Christian Ethics classes.

Faith Assembly Sermon Recordings
One project I need to get done is an updated catalog of all the messages I have preached since the end of 1993. I did not get an update done in 2004 to include the messages preached in 2003, so now I have both 2003 and 2004 to work into a full catalog. I have now updated the list on this website; next will be the catalog. If you are interested in receiving any of these materials, send an email here, or at one of the other email links in this web site, and I will make the arrangements. To view sermon titles of the current calendar year, follow this link to Faith Assembly Sermons. The current year page gives links to pages for previous years.
I am now recording Faith Assembly sermons directly to digital, with tape for backup only, using a computer right on the sound table (no speakers on the computer!). It took me a little while to work out some early bugs, but I can say by now that the quality is comparable or superior to tape. It also saves me the step of converting a tape to digital before editing. I now do all editing on computer, as it is incredibly more accurate.
People have asked about getting Faith Assembly messages on a regular basis. Since we minister the Word three times a week most weeks, that would be 12 or 13 messages a month, while automatic mailing programs usually are just one message a week, that is, 4 or 5 messages a month. Assuming a cost of $4.00 a message for individual recordings on tape or CD Audio media, our program would run up to $52.00 a month plus shipping, for all the messages, instead of $16.00 to $20.00 a month plus shipping for 4 or 5 messages. But there are other options.
    1. You can choose the messages you want to receive on an individual title basis, and only buy as many as you want at the price of $4.00 a message plus shipping. Of course, for this program, we cannot ship messages until we hear from you each month. This would basically be the same program whether you ask for tapes or CD Audio media.
    2. If you have an MP3 compatible player, I will make an MP3 CD of the entire month's messages available for $30.00 plus shipping, regardless of how many messages there are. The only exception would be if there are less than 10 messages, in which case the cost would be $3.00 per message. If you would like to receive all messages for the month automatically after the end of the month, let me know, and I will add you to the list. This is the simplest and least expensive program.

PalTalk Schedule

I have now completed the updating of Faith Assembly Sermons, through the end of April 2005. Follow the link above to access the listings. All messages since November 2003 are available in digital format.

Hobart Freeman Messages Digitizing Project Completed!

It is with gratitude and praise to God that I can announce that, as of the end of January, all of the recorded messages of Brother Hobart E. Freeman were in digital format, ready for delivery in any digital format. You can order a simple audio CD with one message (or two audio CDs for messages over 80 minutes), or a multi-track MP3 CD containing as many as 25 messages (depending on length of included messages), or, a hard drive, minimum 36 gigabyte, pre-loaded with the entire set of 1157 messages. I now have a DVD recorder, and I am working on determining how many DVDs are required to hold the entire set of 1157 messages.

Limitation of Use of Digital Media
I need to insert here a word of simple common sense concerning the ethical use of these recordings. Purchase of any recording does not constitute a right to copy. We allow copying only to share the messages as a ministry to those who are seeking the Lord. It is a common ethical principle that you are not authorized to make copies as a means to save the cost of purchasing the messages for yourself or for anyone else.

Note: Some have asked how much it costs for the entire set on 5 CDs. It is not possible to put the entire set on 5 CDs, either as Audio or MP3 CDs. A CD is not the same as a DVD. A CD can hold up to 700 Megabytes. A DVD can hold up to 4,700 Megabytes, or a little over 6½ times as much as a CD. DVD media is more expensive, and it takes longer to burn a DVD. At this point, I do not know what the cost of all the messages on DVDs would be. I am not even sure how many DVDs will be used for a full set. In fact, I have not determined the pricing of any "full set" options. Certainly, some savings can be expected, but how much is not yet decided. As a rule, the fewer number of pieces I have to handle, the lower the cost; but, ultimately, we are selling recorded sermons in various formats, not the media on which they are recorded. The charges will always be on a per message basis.

The following paragraphs are not binding, while we consider further the implications of unauthorized duplication of the entire library by people wanting to save the cost of purchasing the full set for themselves or others:

I now have three portable hard drives with the entire set of 1157 teachings pre-loaded available for immediate shipment. Two are SmartDisk FireLite, the other is a Western Digital Passport. All are USB bus driven, which means they require no other power supply. If you have Windows XP, you just plug the drive in, Windows loads necessary software to recognize it, and drive is ready to access. Open the drive in Windows Explorer, click any file, and it will launch the default media player on your computer, and begin to play. File names are the same as the original tape numbers. A listing will be enclosed to provide you with an index to the drive.
Both versions cost the same. Each one is about the size of a wallet, although the Western Digital drive is just a bit the larger of the two. If you are interested, the price is $2314.00 for the messages, plus 158.99 for the drive, plus $2.25 shipping. Indiana residents will be charged 6% sales tax on the messages and shipping, but the tax for the drive is passed along as part of the cost to all locations, because I had to pay it when I purchased it. In the future, if I can purchase drives without paying sales tax, I will only assess sales tax on Indiana customers. But as I said, this option is now on hold.

I am continuing to work on preparation of a book compiled from Brother Freeman's Christian Ethics classes.

Digitizing Project Completed!

It is with gratitude and praise to God that I can announce that, as of 6:00 p.m. local time, all of the recorded messages of Brother Hobart E. Freeman are now in digital format, ready for delivery in any digital format. You can order a simple audio CD with one message (or two audio CDs for messages over 80 minutes), or a multi-track MP3 CD containing upwards of 25 messages (depending on length of included messages), or, a hard drive, minimum 36 gigabyte, pre-loaded with the entire set of 1157 messages. Once I upgrade to a DVD recorder, I will be able to record the entire set of 1157 messages on just 5 DVDs.

Please note: Some have asked how much it costs for the entire set on 5 CDs. Please understand, a CD is not the same as a DVD. I cannot get all the messages on 5 CDs. DVD media is more expensive; it takes longer to burn a DVD; and I do not yet have the equipment to record DVDs. At this point, I do not know what the cost of all the messages on 5 DVDs would be. In fact, I have not determined pricing of any "full set" options. Certainly, some savings can be expected, but how much is yet to be determined. As a rule, the fewer number of pieces I have to handle, the lower the cost; but, ultimately, we are selling recorded sermons in various formats, not the media on which they are recorded. The charges will always be on a per message basis.

My next project is to complete the preparation of a book compiled from Brother Freeman's series of classes on Christian Ethics. Also, although I have been digitizing my own messages since October of 2003, I can now go back and digitize the rest of them, from January 1994 down to October 2003. But, I'm not in a hurry. For the moment, I am taking a break from digitizing!

Faith Assembly Sermon Recordings
One project I need to get done is an updated catalog of all the messages I have preached since the end of 1993. I did not get an update done in 2004 to include the messages preached in 2003, so now I have both 2003 and 2004 to work into a full catalog. I will first update the list on this website, then the catalog. If you are interested in receiving any of these materials, send an email here, or at one of the other email links in this web site, and I will make the arrangements. To view approximately the past year's sermon titles, follow this link to Faith Assembly Sermons.
I am now recording Faith Assembly sermons directly to digital, with tape for backup only, using a computer right on the sound table (no speakers on the computer!). It took me a little while to work out some early bugs, but I can say by now that the quality is comparable or superior to tape. It also saves me the step of converting a tape to digital before editing, which I now do entirely on computer, as it is incredibly more accurate.
This would basically be the same program for tapes or for CD Audio media.
