JOHN or DAVID HALL married ELIZABETH JENNINGS or BETTY MUSIC.
| Documented Reasons it could be JOHN HALL:
1. A report by James Henry Hall states that John Hall was born in early 1800’s and came to America from England in 1820. While he was on the ship, he married Elizabeth Jennings. The reports states that John M. and David B. were the only two children born to this union.- report ca. 1955-1960. |
| Documented Reasons it could be DAVID HALL:
1. John M. Hall’s death certificate lists his father’s name as David. 2. C. Mitchell Hall reports his name as David Hall in the Jenny Wiley Country books, however, there is no source listed for this info. |
POSSIBLE CHILDREN OF THIS UNION: (None of these are PROVEN, that is the purpose of this website!)
| John M. Hall | b: NC about 1822-1825 |
| David B. Hall | b: NC about 1824 |
| Mary Polly Hall | b: NC about 1820 |
| Nancy Hall | b: NC about 1818 |
FOR DISCUSSION:
| 11/04/02 | Other information noted in the book "Jenny Wiley Country III," states that John M. Hall's father died while he was an infant child. So does the report by James H. Hall. If we assume the estimate of John M.’s birth date of 1822 to be correct, then his father was dead before the 1830 census. If his father actually arrived on a ship in 1820, there is a very real chance that John M.’s father NEVER appears on any census document in the US. – Angel |

My father made notes
about his family in the 1980s. He listed his great grandmother as
“Polly Hall Lilly” and in the margin wrote “Jennings.” The two
researchers who have done the most work on the Lilly family, Jane Oakes and
Dorothy D. Knierim both list Hardy W. Lilly’s wife as “Mary (Polly)
Hall, daughter of David Hall and Elizabeth Jennings. -- Scott
It is highly likely that Elizabeth remarried. She would have been very young and had at least 2, and maybe 4 children to raise. Some have suggested that this is where the "Music" fits in, that Elizabeth’s second marriage was to a Music. – Angel |
| 11/04/02 | I have started searching for immigrant records, ship records, etc. So far, nothing. I could use some help with this. I have not done much research using this type of record and there is a lot out there! -- Angel |
