| RITES SATURDAY FOR RESIDENT OF VAN LEAR: Mrs. Arminta Hall, lifelong resident of Johnson County died at the home of her daughter at Van Lear Wednesday afternoon. She was born May 22, 1867, the daughter of the late John and Minerva Baldridge Music. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, John David Hall, Van Lear and Alex Hall, Meally. One daughter, Mrs. Claranda Webb, Van Lear. One brother, John Wes Music of East Point, and two sisters, Mrs. Claranda Goble, Auxier, and Mrs. Lavada Austin, East Point. Funeral services were held Saturday at the West Van Lear Church of Christ with the Rev. S. C. Honeycutt officiating. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Van Lear under the direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home. |

John D. Hall, 79, died at his home at Van Lear, Saturday, October 18, at 8:45 p.m. after an extended illness. The son of the late David B. and Arminta Music Hall he was born in this county January 25, 1879, He had lived at Van Lear for the past 15 years where he engaged in farming and served as deputy County Court Clerk. He was married February 14, 1900, to the former Mary Alice Adkins, who preceded him in death May 2, 1958. Survivors include four sons; Bob Hall, Peru, Indiana, Bill Hall, Columbus, Ohio, Dick and Cecil Hall, both of Van Lear; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Honaker, Columbus, Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. Proctor Webb, Van Lear, and one brother, Alex Hall, Meally. Funeral services were conducted from the home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, by the Reverend S. C. Honeycutt. Burial was in the Clubhouse Cemetery, Van Lear.

Mrs. Mary Alice Hall, 76, wife of John D. Hall of Van Lear, died at her home Wednesday morning following an illness of six months. Born February 13, 1880 in Morgan County she was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Ellen Bollen Adkins. She had been a resident of Van Lear for sixteen years. Surviving besides the husband are four sons; Bob Hall, Peru, Indiana, Bill Hall, Columbus, Ohio, Dick Hall, Van Lear and Cecil Hall, Van Lear; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Honaker, Columbus, Ohio, and one brother, James Henry Adkins of this city. Funeral services were held Friday Morning at the home at Van Lear with the Rev. S.C. Honeycutt officiating. Mr. Hall was Born September 14, 1916 in Johnson Co. to the late John David and Mary Alice Adkins Hall. He was a retired miner and farmer and member of the Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by a son, Alvis Hall. Surviving are his wife Marie Goble Hall, four sons, Virgil, David, Jack and Cecil Hall, Jr. all of Van Lear, four daughters Mary Lou Hurt of Louisville, Judy Hager and Martha Fitchpatrick both of Van Lear, and Alice Marie Dollarhide of Thelma, and 32 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral service were held Sunday April 27, at Jones Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Joe Hill, Bill Cantrell and Paul Keaton officiating. Burial was in the Hall Family Cemetery at Van Lear.

AMES PROCTOR WEBB:James Proctor Webb, 60, of Van Lear, died at his home February 5, 1981. Born December 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Proctor and Clarinda Hall Webb. Surviving are his wife, Goldie Goble Webb, two sons, Paul Calvin Webb and Danny Webb, both of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and three daughters, Rosetta Fannin and Marcie Webb, both of Van Lear, and Carlette Campbell of Thelma. Also surviving are three brothers, David Webb, of Williamsport, John Webb of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles Webb of Florence; four sisters, Ruth Handy and Alka Fannin, both of Van Lear, and Minnie Moffett and Lucille Helton, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Alka Fannin died 5-23-1984 age 82. Funeral services for Mr. Webb were held February 7, in Paintsville. Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear.
